Well, lefties...is this what you expected?  How's it tastin' for ya?

It's unfortunate that half of our country has such a seething hatred for anything "George Bush" or "Republican," that they'd gladly watch their country dive into a cauldron of socialism.

"Socialist?" the lefties cry, "don't you mean 'democrat'?  After all, Obama is a democrat.  He's part of the democratic party!"

Yeah...

and just because I went to parochial school, that makes me a freakin' saint.

See, the problem here is that the word "socialist" is still considered a form of profanity in the United States.  Its ties to the former Soviet Union are just too bitter to swallow, for most Americans.  People in the United States are much more apt to admit to being racists, bigots, homosexuals, etc.  But when you mention the word "socialist," (gasp!) NO ONE wants to be know as that!!

According to the dictionary, the word socialism is defined with the following:

An economic system in which the production and distribution of goods are controlled substantially by the government rather than by private enterprise, and in which cooperation rather than competition guides economic activity. There are many varieties of socialism. Some socialists tolerate capitalism, as long as the government maintains the dominant influence over the economy; others insist on an abolition of private enterprise. All communists are socialists, but not all socialists are communists.
